My concern is that it makes the playing field less equal when it comes to the rarities of the species and their respective items. Not everyone can afford to make real purchases for online games (I have been fortunate enough to be able to spend some here and there on the site, but many of the online games I play I am unable to do the same). What I like about those event specific areas (and the game in general) are that *everyone* has the same chances/opportunities to get those rare items/species. Edit to add, it will also affect the market prices of the species when their areas are not currently active. Players who have bought in will be making more profit in points from those who can't, and those who can't will be at a greater disadvantage when it comes to being able to save/spend points for other things - where as the players who bought in will have a greatly inflated amount of points, with nothing to really spend them on.

I really love this idea and I would spend the money and upgrade and also get this at least once but muttduck does make a good point not everyone is able to spend money on a game and it would make them less rare.

I think this would tip the game into a paying to get ahead type of feel. If I were able to just buy access to a special area for a month, then why would I feel inclined to play during the month that event is going on? I think having year round access to special areas would devalue the items in those areas too much.

Back to add, as another topic has pointed out, the things that we considered rare, and a goal to game play, are now becoming purchasable, making the "point" of gameplay kinda lacking. If everything becomes buyable, then what is left to work towards?
